Phil Foden and Mason Greenwood could face disciplinary action after footage emerged of two girls apparently visiting their hotel rooms in Reykajavik following their match with the England national squad against Iceland on Saturday, breaking the country’s strict coronavirus protocols.
Neither player trained in Reykjavik on Monday morning and will not travel to Copenhagen with the rest of the squad for their match against Denmark.
Two Icelandic girls revealed their visit on Snapchat with the footage showing Foden and Greenwood in their hotels with their training kit still on.
Iceland requires anyone entering the country to quarantine for five days and avoid contact with others.
The England national team were exempted from the regulations because of their Nation’s League qualifier but at the same time instructed to not meet anyone outside their travelling party, except during the match and were only allowed to leave the hotel for training and the fixture.
